How long should I wait for my child to get braces?

Updated: Dec 2, 2020

At Quantum Orthodontics our goal is no extractions. We start as early as 4 years old using expansion mechanics to make room for teeth. A child’s facial structure is 80% complete at age 12, so starting early allows us to guide the growth of the face and jaw. This not only creates room for teeth, but also improves breathing which provides more oxygen to the developing brain. Proper growth and proper breathing can help with sleep, behavior, and performance in school and in sports. Please watch our video of Dr. Barb discussing in detail why starting early can have a very positive impact on your health and smile.
